WooCommerce Integration: Shipment Tracking

Metorik has a comprehensive integration with both the WooCommerce Shipment Tracking plugin and Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce plugin, making it easy to handle tracking numbers right from Metorik.

In this brief guide, we'll cover the integration and where you can view, manage, and use tracking numbers in Metorik.

Note: If you've just installed the Shipment Tracking plugin, please wait a few hours for the following will appear (or send us a message for help).

Viewing tracking numbers

Whenever you're looking at an order's page in Metorik, at the top right of the page you'll find the tracking number(s) that have been added to the order already.

If you want to check the status of a shipment, just click the Track button and Metorik will open up a new window on the shipping provider's website and enter the tracking number for you.

If you want to delete an existing tracking number, you can click the trash icon.

Adding tracking numbers

Similarly, it's easy to add a new tracking number when you're on an order's page in Metorik.

Click the Add button and then you'll be able to enter in the tracking details:

The Provider and Tracking Number fields are mandatory, but the Date Shipped field is optional. When you've entered in the details, click the Add Tracking Number and Metorik will save the tracking number to the order.

If you choose the Custom Provider, you'll be able to enter the Provider Name and Tracking Link to be used:

Sending tracking numbers with Engage

If you're using Metorik Engage (for sending automated emails to customers), you can include shipment tracking data as variables in the emails you send.

For example, if you're using Engage to send an order completed email (refer to our guide on creating your first automations for more info about sending these emails), you may want to add a link in the email to track the shipment.

There are several variables at your disposal when sending order automations:

Here's an example of a message we may send to a customer. For the button, we've used {shipment_tracking_link} as the URL:

If you're sending multiple shipments and as such, have multiple tracking numbers, you may prefer to insert the {shipment_tracking_table} component, which can be found under Components:

That component will output a table that looks like this:

Exporting tracking numbers

It's also possible to export tracking numbers alongside other order information from the orders page. When exporting, click the settings tab and then select the related tracking number fields in the 'include meta' setting. The tracking data is currently formatted in an inconvenient way though, so it may be difficult to work with and require some extra parsing/editing after exporting.
