How does Metorik define a New or Returning Customer?
In this doc we're looking at the difference between a New or Returning customer in Metorik.
If you have a WooCommerce store and you're wondering the difference between a Guest and a Customer, then head over and read this guide first: What is the difference between customers and guests in WooCommerce and Metorik?
New Customers
Metorik uses the order email address as the unique identifier to decide if the user is a new or returning customer. If the order is the first order with that email address, then Metorik will consider them to be a New Customer.
In Metorik, they will still be considered a "New Customer" even if they placed the order as a guest, and haven't registered for an account.
Returning Customers
Returning customers in Metorik are defined as users who have placed more than 1 order on your store, using the same email address.
