Emailing customers on the anniversary of their first order
Send your customers a personalized email each year on the anniversary of their first order — a great way to nurture loyalty, celebrate their relationship with your brand, and encourage repeat purchases.
Create a Customer automation
Navigate to Engage → Automations and click New Automation. Choose From Template and select Customer automation. See Building an Automation for a full walkthrough.
Configure the audience
In step two, add a filter for First Ordered → anniversary → is today. Then add a second condition: First Ordered is not today — this prevents the email from going to customers who placed their very first order today.
Customize your email
Design the email using the Email Builder. Optionally add a dynamic coupon — see Engage Discounts & Coupons.
Configure yearly sending
In Extra Settings, check Send automation multiple times to send every year on the anniversary. Leave unchecked to send only once.
Activate
Click Activate. See Automation Activation for details on sending options.
