Using the Orders Report
The Orders Report gives you a complete view of your store's order activity over any time period. You can track order volume, sales, customer behavior, and dozens of breakdowns—all filterable by date, segment, and comparison periods.
Access the Orders Report at https://app.metorik.com/reports/orders.
Set your date range
Use the date picker in the top right to select the period you want to analyze. You can choose from preset ranges like "This Month" or "Last 7 Days," or set custom start and end dates.
View the orders graph
The main graph shows order trends over your selected period. By default, it displays orders grouped by day, but you can switch to week or month grouping using the buttons above the chart.
Check any statistic in the Overall Stats section to add it to the graph. For example, checking "Gross Sales" will plot that metric alongside your order count.
Toggle between Net and Gross sales
In the Overall Stats section, use the toggle to switch between Net and Gross sales figures. This affects all the summary statistics displayed.

Compare with a previous period
Metorik automatically calculates growth percentages against a previous period. Hover over any percentage to see the exact "Previously" value used for comparison.
By default, comparisons use the equivalent previous period. Change this by clicking the Previous period dropdown next to the date picker—you can select previous year, previous month, or set custom comparison dates.
For full details, see Compare Periods.
Export your data
Each section of the report includes an Export button that downloads a CSV file with all the data for that section. Use these exports for external analysis, sharing with stakeholders, or importing into other tools.
To save a graph as an image, click the download button in the chart area.
Google Analytics integration
If you have the Google Analytics integration connected, you can switch the main graph to show user views instead of orders. This displays how many users visited your store during the selected period.
A separate section below the main graph shows unique viewers and conversion rates—useful for understanding how traffic translates into actual orders.
Breakdown statistics
Below the graph, the Breakdown section shows the components that make up your order totals:
Shipping collected
Taxes collected
Average order value
Average items per order
Understanding refunds in this report: The refunds shown here are refunds made for orders placed in the selected period—not all refunds processed during that period. This differs from the Revenue Report, which shows refunds processed regardless of when the original order was placed. For a detailed explanation with examples, see Net Revenue and the Orders Report.
New vs. returning customers
The Orders Report groups orders by customer type. Metorik determines new vs. returning based on your store's specific configuration—you can learn about the different options and what conditions determine each type in the New and returning customers guide.
Group by dimension
Use the grouped sections to view order data broken down by:
Payment method – See which payment gateways process the most orders
Order status – Understand the distribution of completed, pending, cancelled, and other statuses
Shipping method – Compare orders by shipping option
Currency – For multi-currency stores, see order distribution by currency
Each grouping shows order counts and sales figures for that dimension.
Additional graphs
At the bottom of the report, you'll find several specialized visualizations:
Item count distribution – Shows how many orders contain 1 item, 2 items, 3+ items, etc.
Order value distribution – Breaks down orders by value ranges (e.g., $0–50, $50–100, $100+)
Spend by day and hour – Heat map showing when your customers place orders throughout the week
Segment the report
You can filter the entire Orders Report using Metorik's Segmenting Tool. Apply one or multiple filters from hundreds of options to customize the data to match your exact specifications—whether you want to see orders from a specific product category, geographic region, customer segment, or any combination.
The segmenting tool works the same way here as it does throughout Metorik. Build your filters, apply them, and the entire report updates to reflect only the orders matching your criteria.
