When will an automation be triggered/sent?
This help doc only applies to automations.
Metorik will constantly check for customers / orders / subscriptions that match the rules you've defined when creating the automation. Whenever a customer / order / subscription matches the rules for the first time, the automation will be triggered and an email will be sent to the customer.
This usually happens within 10 minutes of the rules being met.
For time-sensitive emails like order receipts, this usually happens within 1 minute of the rules being met (contact us if it's taking longer than this and you'd like us to check).
By default, a customer will only receive a certain automation once in their lifetime. So even if they stop matching the rules and later match the rules a second time, they will not get another email.
For customer and subscription automations, you can enable the Send automation multiple times setting when building the automation. When enabled, the automation will re-trigger whenever a customer or subscription stops matching the audience and then matches again later.
