Your first report
Congratulations — your store is now connected to Metorik. All your orders, customers, products, and historical data are syncing over, giving you a complete picture of your store's performance in one place.
This guide will help you explore your first reports and discover insights you can act on right away.
Start with the Dashboard
When you log in to Metorik, the dashboard is the first thing you'll see. It's designed to give you key metrics at a glance:
Revenue — your gross and net sales
Orders — how many orders you've received
Average order value — the typical size of an order
Top products — your best-selling items
New vs. returning customers — who's buying for the first time
The dashboard updates in real-time, so you're always looking at current data. You can also customise the dashboard to show the metrics that matter most to your business.
Try these reports first
Metorik includes over 75 reports, but you don't need to explore them all at once. Start with these three to get a feel for what's possible:
Revenue Report
The Revenue Report shows your revenue trends over time. You can see gross revenue, net revenue, and how they've changed day-by-day, week-by-week, or month-by-month.
Try comparing this month to last month to spot trends — are you growing, steady, or declining?
Orders Report
The Orders Report gives you visibility into order volume and patterns. See how many orders came through, what the average order value was, and how orders are distributed across different statuses.
This is useful for understanding your operational load and spotting busy periods.
Customers Report
The Customers Report helps you understand your customer base. You'll see new customer counts, returning customer behavior, and lifetime value metrics.
For a deeper dive into customer behavior over time, check out the Customer Reports documentation.
Using the report interface
Every report in Metorik has a consistent interface that makes exploration easy:
Select a date range
Use the date picker in the top-right to choose a time period. You can select from preset options like "Last 7 days" or "Last 30 days," or set a custom date range.
Compare to a previous period
Next to the date picker, you can enable a comparison period. This shows you how the current period stacks up against the previous one, highlighting increases or decreases in key metrics.
Segment your data
Click the Segment Report button at the top of any report to filter your results. You can segment by hundreds of different data points — country, product category, channel, coupon code, and many more. Learn more about Reports Segmenting.
Export to CSV
Need the data in a spreadsheet? Click the export button to download a CSV file with your report data. You can export the current view or create a custom export with specific columns.
Quick wins to try now
Here are some specific things you can try right now to start getting value from your reports:
Filter by country — See where your international sales are coming from and which countries drive the most revenue.
Segment by product category — Identify your top-performing product categories and see which ones might need attention.
Check new vs. returning customers — Understand whether your growth is coming from new customer acquisition or repeat purchases.
View your top selling products — See which products are your breadwinners and which might be underperforming.
What's next?
Once you're comfortable exploring reports, the next step is to get a clear picture of your true profitability. Set up profit tracking to sync your costs and see actual profit figures alongside your revenue data.
